Under Layer Kraft Paper for Fabric Spreading and Cutting Tables

Every garment cutting table needs a foundation. Without underlay paper between your fabric and the cutting table surface, you risk fabric slippage during lay-up, blade damage to the table, and inaccurate cut lines caused by an unstable base. Satvajr's underlay kraft paper rolls solve all three problems.

Available in 80 GSM for standard daily cutting room use and 100 GSM for heavy-fabric operations requiring extra durability, these rolls provide a smooth, stable, tear-resistant base layer for garment, footwear, and industrial fabric cutting tables. Jam-free rolling for fast session turnaround. Multiple widths from 48 to 80 inches to match every cutting table size.

FAQ

What is underlay kraft paper used for in garment factories? Underlay kraft paper is placed on the cutting table surface beneath the fabric spread. It protects the table from blade damage, provides a smooth stable base for accurate fabric lay-up, and prevents fabric layers from slipping during the cutting process — improving cut accuracy and reducing material wastage.

What is the difference between 80 GSM and 100 GSM underlay paper? 80 GSM is the standard weight for most garment cutting rooms handling light to medium-weight fabrics. 100 GSM is recommended for operations cutting heavier fabrics like denim, canvas, or upholstery material, or for cutting rooms running multiple shifts where paper durability is more critical.

How wide does your underlay kraft paper come? We supply underlay kraft paper rolls in 48", 62", 64", 72", 78", and 80" widths — covering all standard and wide garment factory cutting table configurations.

Is underlay kraft paper the same as perforated underlay paper? No. Plain underlay kraft paper is used on manual cutting tables for lay-up stability and table protection. Perforated underlay paper (available separately) has 5mm punch holes designed specifically for CNC automated cutting machines that use vacuum suction to hold fabric during cutting.
